Pakistan Army Tops 35th National Games, WAPDA Second, Navy Third

The Pakistan Army won the trophy of the 35th National Games; WAPDA came second, and the Navy came third. Among the provinces, Punjab came first and Sindh came second. The closing ceremony of the National Games will be held today at the National Stadium Karachi, in which the formal end of the National Games will be announced.

Earlier, on the last day of the competition, the Pakistan Air Force won the National Games football event title by defeating the Pakistan Army, while Pakistan WAPDA took third and the Pakistan Navy took fourth position.

FIFA referee Ahmed Rauf, a member of the Pakistan Football Federation Congress, was also present at the final.

In the boxing competitions of the National Games, the Pakistan Army won the event with a clear lead, winning a total of 12 gold medals in the men’s and women’s competitions.

The Pakistan Army won the General Trophy by securing first position in the men’s boxing competition with five gold and four silver medals and in the women’s competition with seven gold and one silver medal.

Navy came second with three gold, two silver, and two bronze medals in the men’s category, while WAPDA came third with two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. The Pakistan Army won the National Games karate event with 10 gold medals. Army karatekas won 6 gold medals in the men’s category and 4 gold medals in the women’s category.

According to the final medal table, in the men’s final competitions, Army karatekas won first position with 6 gold and two silver medals, WAPDA won second position with two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals, Punjab won third position with one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals, and KP won fourth position with one gold and three bronze medals.

Among women, Army came first with four gold, three silver, and one bronze medals; Punjab came second with two gold and three bronze medals; Balochistan came third with one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals; Sindh came fourth with one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals; and WAPDA came fifth with one gold and two bronze medals.

The shooting event was won by the Pakistan Army with 17 gold medals, while the Navy secured second position with 15 gold medals. The Army secured first position with 17 gold, 16 silver, and 5 bronze medals, while the Navy secured second position with 15 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze medals.

AAF won three silver and eight bronze medals, Sindh won one gold and two silver medals, while HEC won four bronze medals.

The Pakistan Army defeated WAPDA to win the men’s baseball event of the 35th National Games Karachi. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Punjab to secure third position.

Irfan Saeed and Mahoor Shahzad of WAPDA won the men’s and women’s singles badminton titles of the 35th National Games. The army’s Raja Hasnain and Amara Ishtiaq completed the double crown.

The exhibition throwball competitions have begun in connection with the National Games. The event was inaugurated by Secretary of Culture and Tourism Khair Muhammad Kalwar. The opening ceremony was also attended by Pakistan Throwball Federation Secretary General Maqbool Arain, Women’s Wing President Faiza Amir, Secretary Ayesha Razaq, and Pakistan Catchball Federation President Umm Laila Kulsoom.

Pakhtunkhwa was defeated by 0-2, Pakistan Railways defeated Punjab by 0-2, and the men’s hockey title went to the Pakistan Army and the women’s title to WAPDA. The special guest of the final and closing ceremony was Pakistan Olympic Association President Arif Saeed, who distributed medals and prizes along with Pakistan Hockey Federation Secretary Rana Mujahid Ali Khan. On the other hand, in the women’s final, WAPDA defeated Punjab 2-1 to win the gold medal.
