Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has officially made his debut in Australia’s premier T20 competition, the Big Bash League (BBL), representing the Sydney Sixers.
Speaking at the Perth Ground during a conversation with Adam Gilchrist and Howie, Babar shared his thoughts on the conditions, saying the weather in Perth was extremely pleasant and ideal for playing cricket. He added that playing in Australia is always a special experience due to the quality of grounds, enthusiastic crowds, and the overall environment, which helps players perform at their best.
The Pakistani batter also expressed his happiness at having his family present in Australia during this important phase of his career. He made special mention of his father, noting that he has a strong passion for traveling and a deep love for cricket. Babar recalled that during his childhood, his father regularly took him to different matches and grounds, which played a key role in nurturing his interest in the sport.

Reflecting on his journey, Babar said that the encouragement and guidance of his father helped him reach his current position. He added that he feels proud and happy that his father is in Australia and watching him play in the Big Bash League live.

Meanwhile, in the opening match of BBL 15, the Perth Scorchers defeated the Sydney Sixers by five wickets. Babar Azam, playing for the Sixers, was dismissed after scoring two runs in his debut appearance.
