Shoaib Akhtar Joins Bangladesh Premier League as Mentor

Former national team fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is set to take part in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) this season.

Shoaib Akhtar will be seen serving as a mentor for Dhaka Capitals, officially joining the team in this role. “He has joined Dhaka Capitals as a mentor,” according to team sources, bringing his vast experience to guide the squad.

In other BPL news, the deadline for submitting bids for the new PSL teams has been extended, giving franchises more time to finalize their selections.

The Bangladesh Premier League is scheduled to begin on Friday, December 26, and will continue until January 24. The tournament will also feature Pakistani players, who are expected to make an impact throughout the league.

Among the Pakistani players who have received No Objection Certificates (NOC) to participate in the BPL are Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Sahibzada Farhan, Hussain Talat, Ehsanullah, Haider Ali, Abrar Ahmed, Khawaja Nafees, and Salman Arshad.

Shoaib Akhtar’s participation as a mentor is expected to add significant value to Dhaka Capitals, while the inclusion of Pakistani players is set to enhance the competitive spirit of the BPL 2025 season.
