India Approaches PCB for Fast Bowlers’ Training: Aqib Javed

24 December, 2025 10:29

Pakistan Cricket Board’s Director of High Performance, Aqib Javed, has claimed that India has approached Pakistan for guidance and training of its fast bowlers.

Speaking on a podcast uploaded to PCB’s official channel, Aqib Javed highlighted that PCB’s overseas players’ development program offers international cricketers the opportunity to receive coaching and training in Pakistan. Under this initiative, players from the Netherlands and England have recently visited Pakistan to take part in specialized training sessions.

According to Aqib Javed, the program is set to expand globally in the future. He revealed that PCB has recently been receiving phone calls from India, with requests specifically related to the development and guidance of Indian fast bowlers.

During the discussion, the podcast host pointed out that Indian and Pakistani players are often seen avoiding even basic gestures such as handshakes. Responding humorously, Aqib Javed remarked that public perception differs from administrative decision-making, suggesting that bureaucratic approaches often shape such policies.

It is important to note that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) currently follows a “no handshake policy” with Pakistani cricketers, reflecting the broader diplomatic and administrative stance between the two cricket boards.

The claim has sparked discussion among cricket fans worldwide, highlighting the growing recognition of Pakistan’s fast-bowling expertise despite ongoing political and sporting tensions between the two nations.
