Boxing Day Test Creates History with Record MCG Crowd

A new record was set for the number of cricket fans watching the match on the first day of the Boxing Day Test of the Ashes series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

According to Cricket Australia, the first day of the ongoing Boxing Day Test match between Australia and England surpassed even the 2015 World Cup final.

Cricket Australia reported that 93,442 people came to watch a cricket match at the MCG on the first day, while 93,013 people watched the match in the 2015 World Cup final.

On the first day of the Boxing Day Test, the Australian team was bowled out for 152 runs in the first innings, in response to which the entire England team was bowled out for 110 runs.
