Todd Meneely Hospitalized After Accident: National Wrestling Hall of Fame Sends Prayers

Former Nebraska-Omaha wrestling star Todd Meneely is reportedly in serious condition following an accident. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame (NWHOF) shared prayers for his recovery, highlighting his achievements as a three-time NCAA Division II national champion and winner of the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award in 2002.

Who is Todd Meneely?

Todd Meneely, a native of Omaha, represented the University of Nebraska Omaha Mavericks in the 149 lbs and 157 lbs categories from 2007 to 2009. Before UNO, he wrestled for V. J. and Angela Skutt Catholic High School and briefly attended the University of Iowa. Meneely also served as an assistant wrestling coach at UNO from 2009 to 2011 and has coached at several institutions, including Iowa Western, MWC Wrestling Academy, and the Meneely School of Wrestling.

In addition to his wrestling career, Meneely worked at firms like Eggers Consulting, Complete Nutrition, Maxum Group, Skillwork, and Lifetime Consulting Group, balancing his professional and coaching commitments. He was inducted into the Nebraska Coaches Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2015 and is also a member of the NWCA Division II Hall of Fame and NSWCA Hall of Fame.

News of Meneely’s accident spread on social media, prompting an outpouring of support. The Nebraska USA Wrestling Facebook page called him a “Skutt Catholic and UNO legend” and asked followers to keep him and his family in their prayers. Friends and former students shared messages of encouragement, emphasizing Todd’s lifelong fighting spirit and asking the community to pray for his recovery.
