Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 Participation Decision to Be Finalized This Week: PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi
Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, announced that Pakistan’s final decision regarding participation in the T20 World Cup 2026 will be made either on Friday or Monday. “All options regarding the protest have been presented to the Prime Minister,” he stated.
Posting on the social media platform X, Naqvi shared, “I had a constructive meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, briefed him on the ICC matter, and the Prime Minister directed that the issue be resolved while keeping all options on the table.”
Earlier, Naqvi held a key consultation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Sources revealed that multiple options were discussed, and the final decision on Pakistan’s involvement will be guided by the Prime Minister’s instructions.
According to insiders, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi presented all possible scenarios to the Prime Minister, including the position of the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Pakistan’s available options. Naqvi will also consult with other stakeholders, while the Ministry of Interior has kept the Prime Minister fully informed of the situation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also be consulted before finalizing Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup.
