Legendary former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram has been officially appointed as the president of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team, Sialkot Stallionz.
The announcement was made during a ceremony organized by Alpha Ozi Sports at a private hotel in Lahore. Wasim Akram joined the event online and extended his best wishes for the team’s bright future.
Wasim Akram stated, “I will play my part in building Sialkot Stallionz into a strong and successful franchise, using my experience to establish the team on professional grounds.”
During the event, the official logo of Sialkot Stallionz was unveiled for the first time. The team’s head coach Tim Payne, along with co-owners Hamza Majeed and Muhammad Shahid, were also present. They emphasized that Sialkot Stallionz will play a key role in introducing modern features to the PSL, promoting cricket, and enhancing the overall standard of the game.
Alpha Ozi Sports Chairperson Sabiha Sultan also extended her best wishes and announced that the organization will take practical steps to promote women’s cricket, creating more opportunities for female athletes in Pakistan.
The move has been hailed as a positive and promising development for both the PSL and Pakistani cricket.
