Naseem Shah’s Viral Tweet Explained – What Really Happened

Pakistan’s young fast bowler, and has largely held on to his stardom. The 11th edition of PSL has started and the opening match was played between Hyderabad and Lahore at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

Mohsin Naqvi Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) greeted Ms Nawaz and introduced her to the franchise owners take part in the tournament. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was present as the guest of honour for the match between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and the Hyderabad Kingsmen.

Naseem Shah at the center after his opening match as his tweet from his official twitter account went viral.

In the tweet, he addresses Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She was a guest of honour at the match and despite crowd not being allowed, she attended the match with her family. This was criticized by Naseem Shah on his X account and drew significant attention. The post was a quote retweet of a PCB media post showing Chairman Naqvi greeting Ms Nawaz.

Naseem Shah wrote that “Why is she being treat like the queen at Lords?”

The tweet started a debate on social media despite being live for only 14 minutes. It was deleted later on:

Naseem has now separated himself from that tweet. He posted that his account was hacked and it was a security breach. It was later recovered and the tweet has now been removed.

Naseem has also been served a showcause notice by the PCB over his viral tweet and he will have to give an explanation!
