Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the upcoming PSL 11 matches for now due to injury. The Rawalpindiz team confirmed the news on Monday.
According to the team, the fast bowler suffered a side injury during their recent match against Karachi Kings. After the injury, he has been sidelined and will miss matches for the time being.
The team’s medical staff are closely watching his recovery. They hope he may return towards the end of the tournament, depending on his fitness and rehabilitation progress. The franchise said it fully supports him during this difficult time and described his presence in the team as “invaluable.”
It is important to note that the 25-year-old did not have a strong start in the tournament. He took only one wicket against Karachi Kings and gave away 51 runs without taking a wicket in his first match.
Earlier, Naseem Shah also faced a controversy at the start of PSL 11. The issue began during the opening ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium on March 27, where Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz attended as the chief guest.
Later, a post from Naseem’s social media account questioned the treatment of the chief minister, which created a debate online. He later explained that his account was hacked and the post was not intentional.
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board found him in violation of some contract and social media rules. As a result, he was fined Rs 20 million.
For now, the focus remains on his recovery, and fans hope to see him back on the field soon.
