Defending champions Islamabad United (IU) easily defeated Lahore Qalandars (LQ) by 8 wickets in the first match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.
In the match played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Lahore Qalandars set Islamabad United a target of 140 runs, which they achieved in the 18th over for the loss of 2 wickets.
Islamabad United’s Colin Munro scored 59 runs off 42 balls; his innings included 7 fours and 1 six, while Salman Ali Agha scored 41 runs off 34 balls.
Both players remained unbeaten in a partnership of 80 runs, with Islamabad’s Sahibzada Farhan scoring 25 and Andries Goss scoring 4 runs.
For Lahore Qalandars, Asif Afridi and Haris Rauf took 1 wicket each, while Shaheen Afridi, Jehandad Khan, David Wiese, and Sikandar Raza failed to take any wickets.
Earlier in the match, Islamabad United won the toss and decided to field first. The Lahore Qalandars team was bowled out for 139 runs in the last over.
