Babar Azam faces criticism over poor form, fans hope for comeback tonight

21 April, 2025 17:56

Karachi: Peshawar Zalmi captain and star batter Babar Azam is under pressure after a disappointing start to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 season. With only 3 runs scored in the first three matches, Babar’s form has raised concerns among fans and drawn criticism from cricket analysts.

Known for his consistent performances, Babar’s current slump comes as a surprise, especially after scoring 569 runs in the previous PSL season. His last international century was against Nepal in August 2023, and since then, the big scores have been hard to come by. However, fans remain hopeful, trusting in the phrase, “form is temporary, class is permanent.”

Despite Babar’s struggles, Peshawar Zalmi secured a massive 120-run victory over Multan Sultans. Tom Kohler-Cadmore led with a powerful half-century, while Ali Raza impressed with a four-wicket haul. The win was a much-needed morale booster for the team.

Zalmi now prepares to face Karachi Kings tonight at the National Bank Stadium, with the match set to begin at 8:00 PM local time. Fans are eagerly watching, hoping that Babar Azam will bounce back and lead his team with the brilliance he’s known for.
