29 April, 2025 23:05

Quetta Gladiators delivered a historic performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, securing a dominant 10-wicket victory over Multan Sultans in the 18th match of the tournament at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

Chasing a modest target of 90 runs, Quetta openers Finn Allen and Saud Shakeel made light work of the chase. The duo provided a blazing start, with Allen smashing two sixes and a four off David Willey in the second over, scoring 17 runs and setting the tone early.

By the end of the powerplay, Quetta raced to 74/0, demonstrating complete control over the game. The openers sealed the win in just 10.1 overs with 79 balls remaining—the fastest 10-wicket win in PSL history. Finn Allen remained unbeaten on 45 off 21 balls, while Saud Shakeel supported with 42 not out off 20 deliveries.

Multan’s Batting Collapse

Earlier, Multan Sultans collapsed for just 89 runs after choosing to bat first. Khurram Shahzad tore through their top order, dismissing Yasir Khan and Usman Khan in the same over. He finished with remarkable figures of 4 wickets, including key scalps like Kamran Ghulam and Curtis Campher.

Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Wasim Jr contributed with two wickets each, while Ubaid Shah claimed the final dismissal of skipper Mohammad Rizwan, who top-scored with 44 runs in a lone battle.

Multan’s middle and lower order failed to resist the pressure, with five batters falling for single-digit scores. Run-outs and poor shot selection further deepened their woes.

PSL 10 Points Table Impact

This win marked Quetta Gladiators’ fourth victory in PSL 10, significantly boosting their standing in the tournament. The comprehensive nature of the win—without losing a single wicket—also improved their net run rate.
