Supreme Court dissolves Sindh Water Commission. The apex court ordered dissolution of Sindh Water Commission during hearing today (Tuesday).

It also ordered abolition of its secretariat.

Furthermore, the SC directed the concerned authorities to submit quarterly report on this matter.
During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed has directed Sindh Water Commission to hand over its record and documents to the provincial government.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has turned into an exploitative department now, he added.

Sindh Water Commission

Former judge Amir Hani Muslim headed the Sindh Water Commission. During his tenure, SWC played an active role.
He had made surprise visits and held hearings to probe officials concerned on untreated or polluted water.
The SWC had also summoned TDAP and DHA officials.
Sindh Water Commission (SWC)  had also summoned Chairman of Chinese Company, responsible for collection and lifting of solid waste from districts of Karachi to appear before it for its failure to properly carry out the assigned task.
Managing Director (MD) Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) submitted a report on the performance of the Chinese contractor of front end collection and disposal of municipal solid waste in districts South and East during the proceedings of the commission headed by former judge of Supreme Court Justice Amir Hani Muslim.
