Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has hinted at major changes in the national team.

Earlier, India beat Pakistan by six runs in the T20 World Cup game. Rishabh Pant made 42 runs, while pacer Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets. Pakistan’s 113 runs fell short of India’s 119, diminishing their chances of qualifying for the Super Eight stage.

Speaking to media after the match, the PCB chief said that initially it seemed a minor surgery would suffice. However, after the worst performance against India, it is very clear that a major surgery is required.

Naqvi highlighted the current low point in Pakistani cricket. He noted that Pakistan’s performance is at its lowest, adding that improving the team’s performance is our biggest challenge.

The PCB chief said that soon substantial changes would be made in the team. He added that the team need to prepare for the coming Champions Trophy. It is high time to provide a chance to new talent sitting on the sidelines.

He claimed to make the Pakistani cricket team one of the best in the world. He said that he was well aware of what is happening within the team as well as the reasons of the defeat.
