Meta exploring AI-assisted earbuds with cameras

Meta Platforms has been exploring making earphones, which are powered by artificial intelligence with cameras.
This was revealed by company’s employees familiar with the matter.
A slew of firms, from startups to conglomerates including Meta, are working to make AI-based wearable devices to capture growing interest in the sector.
Meta is expecting to explore the device under a project named Camerabuds to identify objects and translate foreign languages.
In September last year, the Facebook-parent company announced new generation Ray-Ban smart glasses having a price of $299. The glasses will also have its AI built in, with the ability to give information on the item a user is looking at.
When contacted, the Instagram owner did not immediately respond for comment.
