Microsoft testing AI features for Notepad
Microsoft’s four decades old app Notepad is getting a generative artificial intelligence (AI) feature.
The company announced in a blog post that a feature called Rewrite is being introduced in Notepad.
This feature will use an AI model to edit the text.
Through rewrite, users will be able to change the length of their text or change its format.
Keep in mind that the Notepad app has been around since 1983 in the Windows operating system and its purpose is to help users create simple text documents.
Over four decades this app has not changed much.
But in July 2024, Microsoft added features like spell check and autocorrect to the Notepad app.
These features were introduced in Microsoft Notepad for users using Windows 11 operating system.
To use the rewrite feature, highlight the text you want to change.
