PTA blocks over 0.9 million blasphemous and pornographic links, websites

More than 900,000 porn and blasphemous links and websites have been blocked by PTA.

According to a local TV, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has so far blocked 100,183 blasphemous links and 844,008 obscene websites.

PTA is taking strict action against websites that spread porn and immoral content on social media. The PTA is also blocking websites that are reported by citizens and government organizations

According to statistics, it is very sad that every day around 20 million pornographic websites are attempted to be accessed from across the country which are blocked at international gateways. Users use VPNs to access websites blocked on international gateways.

PTA is taking all necessary measures to effectively block this content.

According to a spokesperson for PTA, Pakistanis are still the top viewers of pornographic content.  In this regard, it has been revealed that 20 million Pakistanis try to watch pornographic content every day. Attempts of these 20 million Pakistanis to view obscene content are thwarted on international gateways.

According to the report, PTA thwarts 2 crore such attempts every day while 844,000 websites based on obscene content have been blocked.

These websites have been blocked since 2018. Pakistanis also break the closure of PTA on the international gateway. Pakistanis use VPN to view pornographic content.
