Alarming revelation about youth’s use of social media
A new study shows that nearly half of the youth in the United States are using social media on a regular basis.
According to the latest survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, 46 per cent of children between the ages of 13 and 17 admitted that they spend most of their time on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok or YouTube.
The rate found in the survey is 24 per cent higher than a decade ago, but the rate has remained stable over the past few years, according to the research center.
A total of 96 per cent of the youth said that they use the Internet daily.
The youth said they use smartphones, computers, gaming consoles and tablets to access the internet.
While many young people said that they have access to a smartphone.
The survey was conducted by the researchers from September 18 to October 10.
