First AI-designed, 3D printed shoe now available to buy
A company called Syntilay is using AI and 3D printing to create shoes that are available for $150 a pair.
Syntilay uses a combination of AI tools to create its shoes, along with human artistry.
Designers rely on Midgerni to create the basic shape of the shoe, after which a human artist sketches the idea, uploaded to Vizcom AI, and the sketch is converted into a 3D model.
AI then helps design and embed the texture and pattern into the shoe design to create the final product.
Syntilay founder Ben Weiss founded the company in collaboration with Reebok co-founder Joe Foster.
The shoes come in five colours: orange, red, beige, black and blue.
