Pakistani students develop police app to identify criminals
The computer science students of the university established 12 years ago in Turbat, have developed an innovative mobile phone app for the police of Kech district.
According to the details, when the police of the remote Kech district of Balochistan needed a mobile app, not from outside, 4 students of BS Computer Science of Turbat University in their own district took up the initiative, and developed a modern mobile application “Shanakht”.
A local database of this app has been created, which contains all the information of criminals across the district. Now police officers can check and identify the records of criminals and fugitive suspects anywhere on the mobile phone during operations.
The computer science students Bakhshullah Waheed, Kamil Baloch, Shahak Ghulam Rasool and Alam Mayar have jointly developed this app after 4 months of hard work, which has been handed over to the district police of Kech in recent days.
Superintendent of Police Rashidur Rehman Zahri of Kech district awarded the students with certificates of appreciation for their success. The teachers are also expressing their happiness on the success of their students.
Turbat University Professor Dr. Gul Hassan sai that he is happy that the university has covered a long distance in less than ten years.
