Starlink internet in Pakistan: Latest updates on launch and availability

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman engaged in discussions with the Starlink team at the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2025 in Spain. The meeting focused on enhancing Pakistan’s digital infrastructure by expanding affordable broadband access, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

According to an official press release, the discussion aimed at bridging the digital divide and accelerating digital transformation across the country. Rehman reiterated PTA’s dedication to fostering innovation and integrating emerging technologies to improve nationwide connectivity.

He also confirmed that Starlink’s registration with the satellite regulatory body is currently in progress. This registration is a necessary step before the company can obtain a PTA license to provide satellite-based internet services in Pakistan.

The Starlink representatives provided insights into satellite internet solutions and their potential impact on the country’s connectivity landscape. Both parties discussed regulatory requirements and operational strategies to ensure the seamless integration of Starlink’s services.

In an official statement, PTA emphasized its commitment to advancing Pakistan’s digital landscape, supporting initiatives that contribute to economic growth and digital inclusion.

Expected Starlink Internet Packages & Pricing in Pakistan

Starlink is expected to introduce three service plans in Pakistan: Residential, Business, and Mobility. The anticipated pricing details are as follows:

  • Residential Package: Offering speeds between 50-250 Mbps, this plan is expected to cost Rs35,000 per month, with a one-time hardware installation fee of Rs110,000.
  • Business Package: Aimed at enterprises, this plan is likely to be priced at Rs95,000 per month, with a one-time setup charge of Rs220,000.
  • Mobility Package: Designed for users requiring internet on the go, this plan is expected to cost Rs50,000 per month, with a one-time hardware cost of Rs120,000.

With ongoing regulatory processes and discussions, Starlink’s entry into the Pakistani market could mark a significant advancement in internet accessibility, particularly in remote areas.
