Pink Moon 2025: Will it be visible in Pakistan?

11 April, 2025 15:45

The highly anticipated Pink Moon of 2025 is set to illuminate the sky in the early hours of April 13, and stargazers across Pakistan are eager to catch a glimpse.

Despite its name, the Pink Moon won’t actually appear pink. The term originates from the Phlox flower, a North American wildflower that blooms in spring and is associated with the season’s first full moon.

When and where to see it in Pakistan?

According to astronomers, the Pink Moon will reach its peak brightness at 5:22 AM (Pakistan Standard Time) on Saturday, April 13. This makes early morning the ideal time for viewing — weather permitting. However, the moon will appear nearly full on both April 12 and April 13, giving viewers multiple chances to enjoy the spectacle.

What makes this Moon special?

This year’s Pink Moon is also a micromoon, which means it occurs when the moon is at the farthest point in its orbit around Earth. As a result, it may appear slightly smaller and dimmer than a typical full moon — but still just as enchanting for night sky enthusiasts.
