How much PTA tax you’ll pay on iPhone 16 in Pakistan

iPhone 16 series in Pakistan has a major fault, not covered by warranty
If you’re in Pakistan and planning to import the new iPhone 16, it’s important to know how much PTA tax you’ll need to pay before you can use it on local mobile networks.
According to the latest update from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR):
If you register your iPhone 16 using a passport, the PTA tax is Rs128,766.
If you register it using your CNIC, the tax goes up to Rs154,293.
This tax must be paid to activate your phone with local SIM cards. Without paying it, your iPhone 16 won’t work on Pakistani networks.
Experts say this is much higher than the tax on the iPhone 15, making the iPhone 16 less popular in Pakistan. The high cost is seen as a burden for regular buyers, while phone retailers and bulk importers may benefit from it.
Due to low sales of the iPhone 16, many in the mobile industry are urging the government to reduce these taxes and make it easier for individuals to afford the new model.
