Another extension in TikTok ban deadline in US

US President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for a possible ban on TikTok to June 19, 2025.
Reports indicate that this decision was made when the parent company of TikTok, ByteDance, was instructed to transfer its services to American ownership in order to continue operating for US users.
If ByteDance fails to sell TikTok’s US assets by the deadline, a complete ban on the app may be imposed.
In January 2025, a ban on TikTok was enacted under the “Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act,” which temporarily shut down the app in the US. However, President Trump postponed the enforcement of the ban by 75 days, setting the deadline to April 5, 2025.
In April, he granted another 75-day extension, establishing the new deadline as June 19, 2025.
