X (Formerly Twitter) back online after global outage

25 May, 2025 16:42

Elon Musk’s social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, has been restored worldwide after facing a major outage on Saturday that affected users in several countries, including Pakistan.

Millions of users were unable to log in, post, or refresh their feeds during the outage. This was the second disruption in a week — the platform also went down for several hours on Thursday.

Is X Working Now?

Yes. The platform’s engineering team had assured users they were working “24/7 to resolve this,” and now X is running normally across the globe.

Not a Pakistan-Specific Issue

There were rumors that the outage in Pakistan might have been caused by local issues, but the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) clarified that Pakistan’s internet was working fine.

They confirmed the disruption was part of a global issue, not related to any internet blockage or technical problems in Pakistan.

This was also confirmed by NetBlocks, a global group that monitors internet access. They said the outage was widespread and not caused by anything in the local infrastructure.
