Elon Musk Launches Baby Grok AI Chatbot to Transform Children’s Learning — What’s it & How it Works?

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, announced Saturday night plans to launch Baby Grok, a kid-friendly version of the AI chatbot Grok.

Musk shared the news on X, stating, “We’re going to make Baby Grok @xAI, an app dedicated to kid-friendly content.”

Baby Grok, which should not be confused with the BABYGROK cryptocurrency on the Ethereum blockchain, is expected to be a simplified and safer version of the Grok AI chatbot developed by Musk’s xAI company, specifically designed for educational and child-appropriate interactions.

This announcement follows the recent release of Grok4 by xAI, which features advanced training capabilities, as Musk mentioned during a livestream.

“I think it may discover new technologies as soon as later this year. And I would be shocked if it has not done so next year. So I would expect Grok to literally discover new technologies that are actually useful no later than next year and maybe [the] end of this year,” Musk said.

The update comes after Grok faced criticism for sharing unprompted antisemitic comments on X. Musk also encountered backlash over Ani, one of Grok’s earlier user modes, which included flirtatious dialogue and a suggestive avatar, raising concerns about children potentially accessing inappropriate content even in “kids mode.”
