China Mobile rolls out first-ever 6G network with 280 Gbps speed
China Mobile has taken a big step ahead in mobile technology by testing the worldβs first 6G network. During a recent trial, the company managed to download a 50GB file in only 1.5 seconds, reaching a record speed of 280 gigabits per second (Gbps).
This speed is much faster than todayβs 5G networks. Experts say that with this speed, you could download a full 4K movie in less than 2 seconds β just like using a high-speed fiber internet connection.
The test was done on a pilot 6G network with 10 test sites, making it the first real-world 6G trial in the world. The technology showed better performance in speed, low delay, and data transfer than anything available today.
To make the network even better, China also launched a low-Earth orbit satellite. This satellite helps reduce delays and improves data speed. It also supports the idea of satellite-powered 6G networks in the future.
Although 6G is still in its early stages, and experts believe it wonβt be available to the public until 2028 to 2030, China is moving fast to take the lead in this new technology.
