NADRA Launches Easy CNIC Renewal via Pak ID Mobile App - Step-by-Step Guide
ISLAMABAD, August 14, 2025: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a simpler way to renew Pakistani CNICs through its Pak ID mobile application.
Now, citizens can renew their ID cards from home using their smartphones, without visiting NADRA offices or waiting in long queues.
How the Pak ID App Works
The Pak ID app is available on both Android and iOS. It offers CNIC renewal, modification, and reprint services.
To start, download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Then, register, log in, and tap “Apply ID Card”.
Choose “Myself” for your own renewal or “My Blood Relatives” for a family member. If applying for a relative, the person must be present during the process.
Take a photo on a plain white background without glasses. Make sure your face fits within the circular guide. Then, select “Renew” and click “Verify Fingerprints”. Use your phone’s camera to scan your fingerprints.
Finally, sign on the screen or upload a photo of your signature.
Processing Categories & Payment
After filling in the required details, choose a category:
Executive: 7 days
Urgent: 12 days
Normal: 30 days
Once NADRA approves the application, you can pay through Easypaisa, JazzCash, e-Sahulat, or debit/credit card. The renewed CNIC will be delivered to your address within the chosen timeframe.
A Step Towards Digital Pakistan
This upgrade makes CNIC renewal faster, easier, and more secure. Whether living in Pakistan or abroad, citizens can now access identity services with just a few taps.
