Sony PlayStation 5 Prices Surge in Pakistan After Global Hike

Sony has officially increased the prices of its PlayStation 5 consoles in the United States, a move that has directly impacted the Pakistani gaming market.

The revision covers all three models of the console, with the disc version now priced at $549.99, the Digital Edition at $499.99, and the high-performance PS5 Pro at $749.99, making it the costliest mainstream gaming console available today.

Local retailers in Pakistan have confirmed that the hike has pushed up PS5 prices by Rs10,000 to Rs20,000, depending on the version. In major cities such as Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, the PS5 Pro 2TB is now selling for as much as Rs260,000, while the PS5 Slim 1TB is priced around Rs180,000.

Despite the steep rise in costs, the PlayStation 5 continues to be in strong demand across the country. Though not affordable for every household, many buyers—particularly gaming enthusiasts and parents purchasing for their children—continue to drive sales of the popular console.
