Internet speeds slow in Karachi and other cities due to cable fault

21 October, 2025 12:57

Internet users across Pakistan, especially in Karachi and other major cities, are once again facing slow internet speeds and service disruptions.

The slowdown reportedly happened after an outage at Amazon Web Services (AWS), which also affected many popular apps around the world, including Snapchat and Canva.

According to reports, the issue in Pakistan may also be linked to a fault in the undersea PEACE cable system, one of the key cables that connects Pakistan to international internet networks.

Many users took to social media to complain about slow browsing and buffering issues, saying that the problem has been occurring at regular intervals in recent days.

Authorities and internet service providers have not yet given an official update, but experts believe that both the AWS outage and the undersea cable fault could be responsible for the slowdown.

For now, users are hoping that normal internet speeds will be restored soon as repairs and global services return to normal.
