WhatsApp introduces iPhone-like chat themes for Mac users
WhatsApp launches new text status feature like Instagram notes
Mac users can now make their WhatsApp chats more personal, as the app has started rolling out 38 new colour options, similar to those already available on iPhones. The update began reaching users today and offers both preset and customisable colour settings.
The new feature includes 22 preset colours, plus options to adjust brightness or create custom colours. Users can also set personal photos as chat wallpapers and choose to apply a theme to all chats or just individual conversations.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp automatically adjusts message bubble and background colours to keep chats visually balanced. Users can even mix solid colours with soft design patterns for a more creative look.
However, one small drawback is that themes won’t sync across devices. So, a chat might look different on your Mac compared to your iPhone.
The update will roll out to all users in the coming weeks. To see if it’s available, Mac users can check by going to Settings → Chats in the WhatsApp app.
