Reddit users face glitch as parts of site stop working

Reddit users were confused on Monday when parts of the website suddenly stopped working, even though Reddit’s official status page showed everything was normal.

For a few hours, the platform behaved strangely. Some users were able to use Reddit without any problems, while others saw frozen screens, blank pages, or apps that refused to load.

More than 250 people reported issues on Downdetector. These complaints came from different countries and from users on both computers and mobile phones. Almost half of them said the website wouldn’t load at all. Others said their app froze, and some couldn’t connect to Reddit’s servers, as if the platform had disappeared for them.

However, Reddit’s own status page showed no outage, which confused users even more. Many wondered if the problem was only affecting certain areas or servers — a kind of hidden glitch that doesn’t appear on official dashboards.

This isn’t the first time Reddit has faced such problems. A major outage in November affected thousands of users in the US and India. Monday’s issue was smaller, but it still disrupted people who use Reddit daily for news, discussions and entertainment.

As usual, when Reddit went down, users quickly moved to other social platforms to ask, “Is Reddit down for everyone?” Memes and funny posts followed as people shared their experiences.

Reddit has not yet explained what caused the problem, but the site eventually returned to normal.
