Bill Gates says AI may take over many human jobs in 10 years

Artificial intelligence is changing the world very fast. From smartphones to hospitals, AI is already part of our daily lives and is shaping how we work and live.

However, according to Microsoft founder Bill Gates, the biggest impact of AI is still ahead. He believes that in the next 10 years, artificial intelligence will greatly reduce the need for humans in important areas like healthcare and education.

While speaking on NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, Gates said that “with advances in AI, humans may no longer be necessary ‘for most things’.” He explained that this new phase will bring “free intelligence”, where high-quality medical care and education will not only exist but will be easily available to everyone through AI.

In another discussion with Harvard professor Arthur Brooks, Gates talked about how quickly AI is developing. He said the speed of progress is impressive but also worrying, and there seems to be no clear limit to how advanced AI can become.

Talking about jobs, Gates said, “The thing about artificial intelligence is, people have got a concern that if machines can do more things on their own, maybe fewer people will be employed, and in some areas, that may be true.”

AI entrepreneur Mustafa Suleyman has also warned that many current jobs could disappear in the future as machines learn to do tasks that seem impossible today.

Still, Gates believes humans will remain important, especially in creative fields and entertainment. He joked, “People probably don’t want to watch machines play baseball.”

Despite concerns about mistakes, misinformation, and risks, Gates remains hopeful. He believes AI can improve healthcare, education, and even help fight climate change. He called it a “fantastic opportunity” and encouraged young people to make the most of it.
