WhatsApp introduces new festive features to celebrate New Year 2026

WhatsApp is preparing for another very busy New Year as people around the world use the app more than usual on December 31. Every year, message and call activity increases as users send wishes and connect with friends and family.

The app has also brought back animated confetti reactions. Users can react to messages with the confetti emoji, making chats feel more festive. For the first time, WhatsApp has added animated stickers to Status updates. Users can now post New Year wishes using a special 2026 layout with moving stickers.

WhatsApp has also shared helpful tips for people planning New Year parties. Users can create and pin events in group chats to keep everyone updated. Polls can be used to decide food, drinks, and activities easily. Live location sharing helps guests reach the venue safely, while video and voice notes allow users to share special moments with those who could not attend.

With these new features, WhatsApp aims to help people stay connected and celebrate the New Year together, no matter where they are.
