Google has started rolling out Gemini AI features in Gmail. These new tools aim to make your inbox smarter and more helpful. The update is designed to save users time and reduce the effort of managing emails.

AI-Powered Email Summaries

One of the key updates is AI-generated summaries. Gmail will now read long email threads and provide a short summary of the main points. Users no longer need to scroll through dozens of replies to understand conversations.

Introducing AI Overviews

Google is also launching AI Overviews. This tool scans your inbox to answer questions using natural language. For example, you can type:

Gemini AI will quickly scan relevant emails and give a clear, concise answer. This eliminates the need for manual searching and reading multiple messages.

AI Overviews will be available to all users for conversation summaries. However, asking direct questions in your inbox is limited to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.

Availability

The rollout begins in the United States today. English users will get the updates first, with more languages and regions coming soon. Google plans to gradually enable all tools in users’ inboxes.
