New leak shows official names of Samsung’s upcoming foldables

Samsung is reportedly planning a major change in its foldable smartphone lineup next year, including a new naming strategy for its Galaxy Z Fold series.

According to a leak shared on Weibo, the company may rename its upcoming foldable models as part of a new branding approach. The change is linked to a new device that was earlier rumored as the “Galaxy Z Fold Wide,” designed to compete with wider foldables from other Android brands and Apple’s expected iPhone Ultra.

However, this device may not carry the “Wide” name. Instead, it could launch as the “Galaxy Z Fold8.” At the same time, Samsung may shift its current main Fold series into a premium category.

The successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected to be named the “Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra,” targeting high-end users with more advanced features.

Reports suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra may come with a larger 5,000 mAh battery and an improved triple-camera setup compared to its predecessor.

Alongside these devices, Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip8. All three foldable phones may be unveiled in July during Samsung’s second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, following the company’s usual release pattern.
