Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE release may be delayed

Samsung had hinted at launching two exciting new phones—a triple-screen foldable and a cheaper “Fan Edition” (FE) version of the Galaxy Z Flip. But now, reports say both of these devices will be delayed.

Earlier rumors indicated that they would arrive this summer with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, but now via Android Authority, a report out of South Korea suggests the Galaxy Z Flip FE and the triple-screen foldable will come in late 2025.

Fold 7 and Flip 7 Coming This July

The good news is that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are still on track. They’re expected to launch at Samsung’s big “Unpacked” event in July. But sadly, the Flip FE won’t be released at the same time.

While there has not been an official confirmation on why the release is delayed, there are two likely reasons. The first is that Samsung Display is just ramping up production of the screen for the Fold 7 and Flip 7 and we are still in the infancy of the process.

Second, Samsung has yet to finalize the processor for the Flip FE. They are weighing options between the in-development Exynos 2500 and the older Exynos 2400e that was used in the Galaxy S24 FE.

So while some exciting new phones are coming soon, others will take a bit more time.
