May 9 not Army’s case, but all Pakistanis: ISPR

ISPR Director General Major General Ahmed Sharif has said that TTP is using Afghan soil for terrorism in Pakistan.

Addressing the press conference in Rawalpindi, Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that there is concrete evidence that TTP is using Afghan soil for terrorism in Pakistan. Links of recent terrorist incidents extend to terror hideouts in Afghanistan, he added. Pakistan has helped the interim Afghan government at all levels, but they have not yet fulfilled its promises. Pakistan has solid evidence that TTP terrorists are using Afghan soil, he said.

The ISPR DG further said that Pakistan has been hosting Afghan refugees for a long time. Now, more than 500,000 illegal Afghans have returned to their country. But, millions of Afghan citizens are still present in Pakistan. The country’s economy is burdened by Afghan citizens and the law and order situation is deteriorating while the terrorists are deteriorating the law and order situation in Balochistan. The Pakistan forces are standing like a wall in front of terrorists.

The Pakistan military’s media wing official said that the first priority of the forces is to establish peace and order in the country and they will go to any extent to suppress the terrorists and their facilitators.

May 9 mayhem: 

Responding to the question related to the tragedy of May 9, Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif said that May 9 is not only the case of the Pakistan Army, but it is an issue of the entire people of Pakistan. If those who were doing this are not taken to the task then the justice system will be questioned.

He further said that Pakistan believes in the system of punishment and punishment. Those who did it and those were behind the scene on May 9 will have to be punished according to the Constitution. We all saw this incident happening with our own eyes, the DG ISPR said.
