Turkish FM meets COAS to matters of mutual interest

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir to discuss matters of mutual interest, ISPR said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the “deep-rooted relations between the two countries, founded on a historic, cultural, and religious bonds.”

Hakan Fidan commended the Pakistan Army’s role in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The Turkish envoy arrived in Islamabad for a two-day official visit on Sunday night.

He was received by Foreign Secretary Ambassador Ahmed Naseem Warraich at the Islamabad airport.

During his stay in the federal capital, he will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and hold extensive discussions with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

“The two sides will review the state of bilateral relations and assess preparations for upcoming high-level engagements between the two countries,” the Foreign Office said.
