Aus vs Pak 1st Test day 1 : David Warner hammered 164 taking Australia 346-5

On the opening day of the first Test between Pakistan and Australia in Perth on Thursday, Austrlian opener David Warner hammered a gritty 164 runs. The home side reached 346-5 at stumps on day one with Mitchell Marsh (15) and Alex Carey (14) on the crease.

David Warner (37 year old) in his 110th test match smashed 16 fours and four sixes in a majestic 211-ball innings. Warner – Khawaja provided Australian side 126-run opening partnership.

Usman Khawaja wearing a black armband in solidarity with the people of Gaza.  Khawaja had a massive let-off on 25 when dropped but departed at 41 , when Pakistan’s bowlers picked up their game after lunch, caught by wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed off Afridi’s bowling.

Labuschagne looked in good nick, racing to 16 when he was beaten by a ball pitched up by Ashraf and given out lbw. Steve Smith scored 31 an edge to sarfaraz ahmed behind the wicket bowled by debutant khurram shahzad.

Travid Head punched a quick 40 before top-edging straight to Agha Salman, ensuring Jamal too earned a first Test wicket.
