Nepra approved Rs1.15/unit for Jan – Mar 2024 in quarterly adjustments

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Wednesday increased the electricity tariff by Rs1.15 per unit as part of the quarterly adjustments.
The instant quaterly adjustments were due on account of variation in Capacity charges, variable O&M, use of system charges, market operator Fee and FCA impact on T&D losses, nepra notification stated.
The latest hike in the tariff would put an additional financial burden of Rs22.29 billion on the power consumers.
The instant quarterly adjustment of Rs.1.1502/kWh shall also be charged from the consumers of K-Electric, to be recovered in a period of 03 months i.e.January to March 2024, nepra stated.
