Ejaz Khan Swati, a newly-elected PTI-backed independent member on PS-88 Malir has announced to join the Pakistan People’s Party.

In a video statement, Ejaz Swati said that he is joining the Pakistan People’s Party for the sake of the people of the constituency, friends and development and prosperity.

Newly-elected independent member Ejaz Swati further said that he is joining PPP unconditionally. The purpose of his joining PPP is that he wants to serve the people of his constituency.

Earlier, Ejaz Swati backed by PTI was elected as an independent from PS-88 Malir.

Reacting to the announcement of newly-elected independent member to join PPP, PTI Karachi President Khurram Sher Zaman said that it has been decided to suspend the basic membership of Ejaz Swati.

Speaking to media, Zaman said that if those who took an oath in the name of Allah are not ours, then what will happen to someone else. The Pakistan People’s Party should avoid taking such turncoats.

It should be remembered that the newly elected independent member Mumtaz Jakhrani had already announced to join the PPP.

Meanwhile, re-polling is taking place today at a few polling stations of Ghotki, Kohat and Khushab.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, polling that was earlier postponed due to various reasons will continue without a break from 8 am to 5 pm today and voters will be able to cast their votes.

It may be recalled that there were riots in 26 polling stations of NA-88 Khushab, 8 polling stations of PK-90 Kohat and two polling stations of PS-18 Ghotki.

After the incidents of insecurity, the polling process at the said polling stations was postponed by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
