Pakistani anchor Mona Khan arrested in Greece

Pakistan Television host and marathon runner Mona Khan has been arrested in Greece.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the Pakistani Embassy has taken up the matter her with the Greek authorities and sought consular access to the host.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said that the Pakistani Embassy in Greece is ascertaining the reasons for the arrest, while her coach Malik Yusuf is also in touch.

He said that Mona Khan had arrived in the Greek city of Athens two days ago to participate in a hiking event, where she was arrested.

She has been shifted to jail and will be produced before a local court on Monday, the coach said.

In addition, Yusuf has appealed to the Pakistani Embassy in Greece for help for the release of Mona Khan.
