Combatting terrorism not one institution’s job, says PM Shehbaz in apex committee meeting

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the combating terrorism is the responsibility all federal and provincial governments and not solely one institutionβs job.
The prime minister made these remarks while addressing an apex committee meeting for the National Action Plan (NAP).
The meeting was attended by the chief ministers of all the provinces, federal ministers and senior military officers.
βIt is joint responsibility of all of us to combat terrorism and enforce the stateβs accountability fully and without exception,β the prime minister said.
βA soft state can never win the confidence of the investors,β he said, adding that a healthy and strong economy cannot be imagined in a country plagued by instability and terrorism.
PM Shehbaz Sharif stressed that all the law enforcement agencies, ministries, federal and provinces governments and all the institutions should jointly work to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
Besides, he stressed that an active diplomacy would also be required to take actions against the terrorist elements outside Pakistan.
