UAE princes ‘divorces’ husband via Instagram post

United Arab Emirates Princess Sheikha Mahra has announced her divorce from her husband on Instagram.
She is the daughter of UAE Vice President and Deputy PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Zoe Grigorakos.
“Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce,” she wrote on the social site.
“I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.”
Moreover, she also removed all pictures shared with her husband from the site as well as other social platforms.
Her sudden divorce announcement has left her fans and social media users in a state of shock.
Some users claim that the Emirati princess’s Instagram account may have been hacked while others say that the right to divorce rests solely with the husband, and the wife can only seek “khula” (divorce initiated by the wife).
She married to Sheikh Mana Al Maktoum on April 5, 2023. They later welcomed their first daughter in May of this year.
