Govt rejects PTI’s condition for calling off Oct 15 protest
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has revealed its condition for calling off its October 15 protest, with the government rejecting the Imran Khan-founded party’s proposal.
PTI spokesman Sheikh Waqas Ikram said that if the government is concerned about the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, then allow a meeting with Imran Khan.
He said that if Imran Khan’s sisters and doctors say after meeting him that everything is fine, then there will be no protest in Islamabad on October 15.
The PTI spokesman also denied reports that there were differences in the party leadership over holding the October 15 rally.
Meanwhile, the party has written a letter to the Home Ministry requesting a meeting with the former prime minister.
Meanwhile, PML-N leader Talal Chaudhry responded to pti’s demand and said that Imran Khan is the most privileged prisoner in history.
He emphasised the significance of the event, saying: “The SCO conference is a major international event, with 200 delegations coming to Pakistan. This conference is not about any individual; it is directly tied to the country’s economy and future.”
He also dismissed PTI’s protest plans, accusing them of attempting to blackmail the state. “The call for protest is merely an effort to blackmail the government,” Chaudhry said.
