Dr. Aafia Siddiqui repatriation: Pakistan delegation to visit US

A Pakistani delegation featuring military officials, parliamentarians, doctors and Dr. Fawzia Siddiqui, is set to travel to the United States to discuss repatriation of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.

The announcement was made on Friday after a recent court hearing regarding Dr. Fawzia’s plea for her sister’s recovery and repatriation.

The development was also confirmed by the Additional Attorney General.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also proposed a Prisoner Transfer Agreement with the US, which was discussed in court.

Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq sought clarity on the timeline for a response regarding this agreement.

Dr. Fawzia has requested a medical check-up for Dr Aafia Siddiqui.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Prime Minister has approved the delegation’s trip.

The Islamabad High Court has adjourned the hearing related to this matter.
