Chunky Panday says monkey was paid more than him in film “Aankhen”

Indian actor Chunky Panday has revealed that the monkey who acted in his blockbuster film ‘Aankhen’ was paid more than him.
The actor, while appearing on Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show with co-star Govinda, shared that the monkey was paid more than him in ‘Aankhen’.
Chunky said that the monkeys were not only paid more than the actors, but were also treated to five-star hotel stays and more pampering.
Govinda, Chunky Panday and Shakti Kapoor’s memorable blockbuster action comedy film ‘Aankhen’ was released in 1993 and was directed by David Dhawan.
Shakti Kapoor joked, “We did this film together, where these two were the heroes, actually not two, but three heroes, Govinda, Chunky and a monkey.”
Talking about Aankhen, Panday said: “I was told that everyone except me has a double role in the film, and I said it’s not appropriate. So they gave me a monkey. This monkey was paid more than me and Govinda. It was an expensive monkey and traveled with six assistants. This monkey caused some very funny scenes on the sets but everyone loved him.”
It may be noted that Chunky Panday is currently shooting for the film “Housefull 5”, which is directed by Tarun Mansukhani.
The film stars Akshay Kumar, Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez, Fardeen Khan, Sonam Bajwa, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh and Johnny Lever. The film will release in June 2025.
