WhatsApp introduces dancing ‘three-dot’ sign to show when someone is typing

WhatsApp is rolling out the popular bouncing three dots indicator, which will show up for users when someone at the other end of the chat is typing.
The latest “Typing Indicators” have been introduced for both iOS and Android users worldwide.
WhatsApp said in a statement that now, when someone starts typing in a group or 1:1 chat, you will see a visual ‘…’ cue at the bottom of the chat screen, along with their profile picture. It will make it easier to see who is actively engaged in the conversation.”
With the view to enhance real-time engagement among WhatsApp users, the three dots indicator will appear in group as well as individual chats on the platform.
It appears to be enabled by default for all users. It is, though, unclear if the indicator can be turned off.
The typing bubble indicator has been a hallmark of Apple’s iMessage for years. While some like it, others find these indicators annoying as they prefer that their typing status is not revealed in every chat.
